Detailed Information

Radio 4: Mapping the Credit Crunch

During the period from 26th April 2008 to 30 June 2008, Radio Four's iPM programme, in conjunction with the Centre for Advanced Spatial Analysis, ran a survey to determine what factor was most hurting people about the credit crunch.

The question we asked was as follows:

What single factor is hurting you most about the credit crunch?

Please select one of the answers below:

1. Mortgage or Rent

2. Fuel

3. Food Prices

4. Holidays

5. Other

6. The Credit Crunch is not affecting me

People were also asked to enter their postcode district, which was used to draw a map of the nation's mood. While the survey was running, this map was updated every half hour with the latest data. Each postcode district was coloured according to the question with the greatest number of responses in a "first past the post" system.

After the closing date, this information was broken down into a single map for each response question. This map show the total number of all responses for each postcode district.
