The carbon footprint is a measure of the total amount of carbon dioxide emissions that are directly and indirectly caused by human activity. Stockholm Environment Instituite’s carbon footprint provides further contextual information on the carbon dioxide emissions associated with all aspects of people’s lifestyle. It measures the carbon dioxide emissions associated with the domestic energy we use and the way we travel as well as what we eat and what we buy and use. Because the Carbon Footprint focuses on people’s every-day lives it helps relate climate change to local needs and priorities. This makes it relevant to local people and to communities.
